Next stop OCF 2010

The Oregon Country Fair 2010

Wow! Wow again! This experience was truly amazing for both us and the girls. Can you say wild, wacky, eye catching, friendly, clean, green, warm, beautiful, lets just say it wow'd the senses. Here are some pictures of the 41st annual event.

Oregon part Tres

....from Lincoln City and the Devils Lake campground we followed the road south. We stopped at Cape Foulweather, Yaquina Head, South Beach (and had an awesome lunch), Cape Perpetua, Haceta Head (viewpoint), Florence, and on into Eugene. Brian was eagerly awaiting our arrival. That evening he took us to a viewpoint overlooking the college so we could get a feel of the city. We then went to dinner at Papa's Soul Food, the food was great as well as the area.
We started the next day with coffee and a pastry from a cute little bakery around the corner from Brian's, one of the great things about cities in Oregon you always have a bakery and a market right around the corner. I wish more cities would go back to the neighborhood markets, I loved Hawkins Market and Swanners as a kid. We then set out on our daily adventure. Brian navigated the trip for today which took us north to Salem and then to Silver Falls. It was breathtaking, I wish we had the time and the stamina to do the whole loop, which consists of seven beautiful waterfalls and a 8 hr walk. Anyway here are the pictures up to this point.

Oregon continued..

After a days drive down the coast visiting the Tillamook Cheese factory, stopping at a few more beaches, and what appeared to be a very large sand lake in the middle of evergreens, we settled in at Lincoln City. We were able to secure a Yurt for the evening at Devils Lake Campground and explored the beach as well as the city little more. Dinner consisted of a pie from a great little pizza place called the Humble Pie, it so reminded me of The Pie up by the U. Quaint and simple little restaurant just what we needed. The campground was great and would've been a great place to have a family reunion if it was 800 miles from home. It had a cute little boat dock and lots of tiny fish swimming around. I'll let you enjoy the pictures for now and will see you soon with another installment of our summer vacation.

Oregon continued

Monday July 5 - We are leaving the city and heading to the coast. WOW lots of great views and to go right from evergreens to the ocean, mother nature is truly amazing. We start out our adventures on the coast at Canon Beach and Haystack rock. It was low tide so we spent a lot of time here, the girls loved playing in the ocean and it was hard for me to keep them moving toward Haystack rock but they understood when we finally got there. Can you say holy Tide Pools and the oceans beautiful creatures. There were also a couple breeding oyster catchers. Needless to say we spent the better part of the day here. So I will let you enjoy the pictures.
